Bridget McManus is a television host, screenwriter, producer, director and award-winning performer. She created and hosted two television shows for the Logo Network; Bridget McManus Presents: That Time of The Month and the award-winning comedy talk show, Brunch with Bridget. She has also hosted the self-help series The Jam, The Stonewall Inn’s 40th Anniversary Benefit in New York City, and was a correspondent for the 8th International Gay Games in Cologne, Germany. Her writer and producer credits include the original mockumentary series McManusland, the romantic drama series Maybelle, the horror series Buyer Beware and satirical news series We Have Issues.
McManus plays a recurring role in Season 4 the Emmy-Award winning series Transparent, stars in Guinevere Turner’s Post Apocalyptic Potluck, is featured in truTV’s Talk Show The Game Show and can be seen in the satirical comedy series Advocates. She was featured in Universal’s blockbuster film Wanted alongside Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy, MTV’s comedy sketch series Acting Out and the romantic comedy November Rule.
McManus is one of the few female warm-up comedians in television. She was the warm-up comedian and the host’s sidekick on CBS’s The Queen Latifah Show. McManus has also been the warm-up comic for NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Netflix’s Chelsea, FOX’s The Real, EPIX’S Wanda Sykes comedy special What Happened…Ms. Sykes?, CW’s Young Women’s Honors, MTV’s Acting Out, FOX’S The Preachers, CBS’s The Jeff Probst Show, Fox’s The Boris & Nicole Show, Heads Up!, ABC’s The FABLife, USA Network’s Big Star Little Star, USA Network’s According To Chrisley, Throwing Shade, Family Fortune, What Happened Was…, Sports Desk USA and NBC’s The Wall.
McManus has starred in four comedy specials; Laughing Matters: The Next Generation, One Night Stand Up: The Women of AfterEllen.com, Chaos & Cleavage and Bridget McManus: Live at Chicago’s Mayne Stage.
McManus garnered a Best Actor nomination at London’s Raindance Webfest for her romantic drama series Maybelle. Maybelle won the Best Drama Award at OutWebFest in Los Angeles and the Best Director award at the Raindance Webfest in London.
McManus graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama from Playwright’s Horizon’s Theater School. She also completed The Second City Conservatory Program in Los Angeles and studied at The Groundlings. In August 2016 McManus was named tellofilms.com‘s Vice President of Development.
